CONI – Italian National Olympic Committee

The Italian National Olympic Committee or CONI is the governing body for sport in Italy.

It was founded in 1914 as a private organization with the aim of organizing the Olympic presence of Italian athletes and subsequently became the linking organization for all the national sports federations, a role it still holds under the legal guise of a non-economic public body under the supervision of the presidency of Cabinet.

CONI is the official partner of Make Me Italy in Emilia-Romagna in the “Sport in agriturismo” project, based on the values ​​of the MMI manifesto.

The project

“Sport in agritourism” is a project developed by Make Me Italy with the patronage of CONI and it is a training-promotion course dedicated to the agritourism structures of the region, organized by the Regional School of Sport. The project aims to consolidate a widespread rural network capable of satisfying the growing demand for sports tourism and to enhance the agritourism offer in terms of services and facilities.

The project pursues the following objectives:

  1. Promote healthy eating and a correct lifestyle, with the aim of increasing skills and knowledge through sports practice on farm holidays in Emilia-Romagna.
  2. Train operators in the agritourism sector.
  3. Promote relationships and partnerships with Sports Federations, Associated Sports Disciplines, Sports Promotion Bodies, sports entities in general, Public Administrations, research bodies, universities.
  4. Enhance sport as a tool for promoting “slow tourism”, in contact with nature and to discover the agri-food production of Emilia-Romagna.
  5. Promote sporting initiatives that enhance the benefits of healthy eating linked to human psycho-physical well-being.
  6. The project also provides for the training, within the structures, of the figure of the “agritourism sports manager”.

Make Me Italy and CONI award the companies that complete the training course the MMI bronze bow, as well as an MMI/CONI branded quality certificate and a recognition plaque displayed in the structures.
