SECOND LIFE AND NARRATIVE MEDICINE
Always passionate about cooking, food and nutrition, in 2010 the onset of type 1 diabetes and celiac disease in her daughter Gaia at the age of 6 marked the beginning of what she calls her “second life” which led to the publication in 2013 of book “A chef for Gaia”, the narrative medicine book with recipes with and without gluten and with carbohydrate counts, whose royalties are entirely donated to charity (the book is currently in its 5th printing).
SKILLS AND PUBLICATIONS
Since 2013 she has held cooking courses for companies, training institutions, hospitals, patient associations and enthusiasts.
In 2016 the blog www.unochefpergaia.it was born and in 2017 she won the 6th edition of the Rice Food Blogger Contest “Chef Giuseppina Carboni”, which led to the publication of the travel diary with recipes “Food Blogger in viaggio” in December of the same year.
During the lockdown due to the Covid19 pandemic in March 2020 she opened the YouTube channel “Ilaria Bertinelli – A chef for Gaia” where she collects the video recipes made every day to give a few minutes of leisure and share ideas for home cooking.
In 2022, 2 recipe books dedicated to special diets have been published.
In 2023 she published the book in English “Feeding love to Gaia and Nico” on the onset of autoimmune diabetes in her son Nicolò (with 100 recipes).
